Country music is the lifeblood of Whiskey Riff, and we pride ourselves on standing firmly in the corner of the independent artists, and those few in the mainstream still doing it the right way. Whether it’s Waylon, Willie and legends of the past, or superstars in the making like Zach Bryan, our finger is always on the pulse of true country music. From Texas to Tennessee, Appalachia to Bakersfield, Whiskey Riff is THE unapologetic voice of the country music fan.
A RIFF on what makes the great outdoors…great.
“Country” is more than just a steel guitar. It’s a lifestyle. A mindset. A cold beer, hot grill, the game on and the great outdoors. A lifestyle and culture so perfectly captured by the country greats of yesterday, but still alive and well today.
Whiskey Riff is that lifestyle.
On ‘Whiskey Riff Raff,’ Steve Gazibara and Wes Langeler give an unfiltered and unapologetic take on country music, life, and all the craziness that comes with it. Laugh with us. Rant with us. Drink with us.
I’m not sure the last time I stepped into a movie theater to be honest. Not because I don’t enjoy it, but when you have a 2-year-old and a newborn at home, you just don’t have much time to get out. And when I do, do I really wanna spend it in a dark theater, not talking to my wife or anybody else? No, not really…
But Joker, which came out in the fall of 2019, is one of the last movies I can recall seeing in the theater, and I remember being kind of creeped out. I also remember the movie being PHENOMENAL.
Written and directed by Todd Phillips, starring Joaquin Phoenix… it was a dark and eerie masterpiece, but somehow, you left feeling some sort of twisted empathy for Joker. It was brilliant.
It grossed a billion at the box office, the first R-rated film to do so, was nominated for a ton of awards, and Joaquin even won his first Oscar for Best Actor at the 92nd Academy Awards for his performance.
And now, the sequel is upon us.
Set for release on October 4th, Joker: Folie à Deux will see Phoenix reprise his award-winning role as Arthur Fleck (Joker), alongside Lady Gaga who plays the infamous Harley Quinn. The two meet at Arkham Asylum, following the events of the first film, where the pair plan their escape to wreak havoc on Gotham City.
The trailer was just released this evening, and let me tell you, it did NOT disappoint.
Buckle up…
