Jack Antonoff fumes over 'clickbait' Taylor Swift question and abruptly ends interview – The Mirror

Jack Antonoff and Taylor Swift have collaborated on six albums, including The Tortured Poets Department, and also worked together on the Taylor’s Version re-recordings of her first four albums
Jack Antonoff furiously slammed a question about Taylor Swift and abruptly ended an interview he called “clickbait”.
The 39-year-old has collaborated with the Shake It Off hitmaker on six albums, including the singer’s upcoming 11th studio album The Tortured Poets Department, which is set to be released in April. Despite his involvement in the highly-anticipated release, Jack shut down an interview with Dutch news outlet NRC when they quizzed him about the album.
“You know I don’t talk about that. If you’re looking for clickbait, you’ve come to the wrong place. Thank you for this conversation,” he firmly stated, before hanging up. Earlier on in the interview, he did briefly discuss working with good friend Taylor, and how his work with the Grammy-winning pop icon differed to his work with his rock band Bleachers. “I don’t see it as producing. I create music with my friends. It comes as it comes. I’m not the kind of producer to bark commands from behind a mixing board,” Jack explained.

The musician and producer, who wed Once Upon a Time in Hollywood star Margaret Qualley last year, said the quality of his work depends on how well he and the artist get along. “I involve myself in the music itself; the way you can steer the creative process … Being able to listen to each other well is one thing. The artists I work with trust that I can help them make their music better,” he shared.
Last month, he confirmed to the Los Angeles Times that he has “completed” work on The Tortured Poets Department – which is due to be released on April 19 – but did not divulge any more details. He has collaborated with Taylor on six album, and they began their close working relationship back in 2014, when they worked together on her album 1989. They then teamed up on Reputation, Lover, Folklore, Evermore, and Midnights, as well as the Taylor’s Version re-recordings of her first four albums: Fearless, Red, Speak Now, and 1989.
Taylor, who is currently enjoying a break from her epic Eras World Tour, announced The Tortured Poets Department at the Grammys in January as she accepted the award for Best Pop Vocal Album. “(The way I can celebrate) is by telling you a secret that I’ve been keeping from you for the past two years, which is that my brand new album comes out April 19th,” she said, prompting a wild reaction from her fans.
Swifties quickly suggested that the album was a nod to her ex-boyfriend Joe Alwyn, who she split from back in April last year. It was previously revealed that the British actor had a group chat called Tortured Man Club with his acting pals Paul Mescal and Andrew Scott, and fans speculated Taylor’s 11th album could be about the end of their six-year relationship.
