Was Reba McEntire disgusted with Taylor Swift’s behavior at the Super Bowl?
McEntire turned to social media to address a rumor that she called Swift “an entitled little brat” during Super Bowl LVIII.
The rumor started after an account called America Loves Liberty shared a Facebook post Wednesday, March 13 saying McEntire talked “about how disappointed she was to look up at the big screen while performing ‘The National Anthem,’ only to see Taylor Swift laughing and drinking and making a mockery of the event.”
The post, misspelling McEntire’s name, went on to say, “I let her have it afterward. She’s an entitled little brat.”
The country music legend later posted to Instagram telling people, “don’t believe everything you see on the Internet. I did not say this. Taylor is a wonderful artist, strong role model and has done so much good for so many people and the music industry.”
However, America Loves Liberty appears to be sticking by the bit. The account posted a statement Monday saying, “Reba isn’t a victim of some horrible rumor. Reba fell for satire. Reba can’t read past a headline.”
McEntire performed the national anthem at the 2024 Super Bowl on Feb. 11 while Swift was at the game to cheer on her boyfriend, Kansas City tight end Travis Kelce.
McEntire is currently serving her second season as a coach on “The Voice.” The country superstar completed her Season 25 team on Tuesday, March 12.
