Harrison Butker appeared to change his mind about whether he’s a Swiftie while sharing his unfiltered opinion of the pop star during a recent interview with the Catholic current events show EWTN News in Depth.
The Kansas City Chiefs kicker first met Taylor Swift a few months ago while attending a New Year’s party. Butker, 28, recalled that the “Cruel Summer” singer was there with her boyfriend, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
During the interview, EWTN’s Mark Irons asked the Super Bowl champion what it has been like these last few months amid the Swift-Kelce. Butker also shared whether he considers himself a fan of the pop superstar.
“I wouldn’t say I’m a Swiftie,” Butker said before recalling his introduction to the “Lover” songstress. “She was just so humble and so gracious,” he said.

Swift also appeared to be impressed by his skills on the field, according to Butker. “She thinks that’s amazing that I can kick the ball so far through the uprights,” he told Irons.
But after reflecting on that initial meeting, Butker appeared to change his mind about his Swiftie status.
“I was a little nervous to meet Taylor Swift—I mean, it’s Taylor Swift,” he said. “So maybe I am a Swiftie, if I was nervous to meet her. But it was a great experience, and I can’t say enough great things about her.”
The Chiefs kicker also revealed his hopes for Swift and Kelce as their relationship progresses. “I hope they get married and start a family,” the father of two said.
Swift and Kelce began publicly dating last fall as Swift started attending Chiefs games. She attended Super Bowl LVIII to cheer Kelce and his team on to victory last month. Meanwhile, Kelce has similarly traveled to support Swift as she brought her Eras Tour to Australia and Singapore.
Now, the two are reportedly spending some downtime together as they enjoy a break from their hectic careers before Swift’s international Eras Tour resumes in May.
