In honor of the release of “Taylor Swift The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version),” the Disney+ homepage currently features categories inspired by Taylor Swift albums.
The categories are named after Taylor Swift’s various albums with a “(Disney’s Version)” tag. Swift began re-recording and re-releasing her albums as “(Taylor’s Version)” after she lost the rights to the original masters.
“Fearless (Disney’s Version)” includes the recently-released “The Marvels,” “Percy Jackson and the Olympians,” and “Echo.” “Speak Now (Disney’s Version)” has romantic fairytale stories including “The Princess Bride,” “Enchanted,” and “The Princess Diaries.”
“Red (Disney’s Version)” is literal with movies that have red posters like “Turning Red,” “Incredibles 2,” and “Cars.”
The “1989 (Disney’s Version)” playlist features films released that year (the album was named for the year Swift was born). These include the original animated “The Little Mermaid,” “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade,” and “Honey, I Shrunk The Kids.”
“Reputation (Disney’s Version)” takes a darker turn with “Cruella,” “Avengers: Endgame,” and “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil.” And “Lover (Disney’s Version)” features stories about love including “Forky Asks a Question: What Is Love?”, “Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement,” and “Love, Victor.”
The Taylor Swift documentary “Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions” is, of course, at the top of the “Folklore (Disney’s Version)” playlist. Other films in the category include “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” and “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe.”
“Evermore (Disney’s Version)” features “Ever After: A Cinderella Story,” “Tuck Everlasting,” and “Twitches.” Lastly, “Midnights (Disney’s Version)” includes “The Aristocats,” “Cinderella,” and “Werewolf by Night.”
“Taylor Swift The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version)” is a concert film of Swift’s August 2023 performances at SoFi Stadium in California. Disney’s version includes songs cut from the theatrical release including “cardigan” and four additional acoustic songs.
