If you missed out on seeing Taylor Swift on her Australian tour, the cinematic experience that is the Eras Tour concert film is coming to a sofa near you.
The pop star took to the stage at her concert in Brazil on November 27 — her final Eras Tour stop for 2023 — to announce Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour movie would be available for streaming on her birthday, December 13.
While the concert film initially dropped as a rental on Prime Video, it will be available to all Australian viewers for the first time in 2024.
Even better, the Eras Tour film is an extended version, including set list fan favourites not included in the original version: ‘Wildest Dreams,’ ‘The Archer,’ and ‘Long Live.’
A week ahead of the streaming drop, Disney released a new trailer for The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version).

Upon announcing the extended version, Swift shared the news on her Instagram, saying, “Hi! Well, so, basically I have a birthday coming up, and I was thinking a fun way to celebrate the year we’ve had together would be to make The Eras Tour Concert Film available for you to watch at home!”
“Very happy to be able to tell you that the extended version of the film including “Wildest Dreams,” “The Archer” and “Long Live” will be available to rent on demand in the US, Canada & additional countries to be announced soon starting on … you guessed it, December 13.”
Another detail in Swift’s post was her reference to ‘rent on demand,’ suggesting that the film may be a once-off rental rather than included in streaming subscriptions.

Despite the excitement about the Eras Tour concert film, fans were concerned that one of the four songs omitted from the theatre film remains unreleased.
‘Cardigan’ is featured in the show’s set list, yet has not appeared on any of the film releases of the concert.
Turns out, Swift was saving it for the international streaming release and Disney’s The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version). ‘Cardigan’ will appear in the March 14 (or 15, if you’re in Australia) version, along with “four additonal acoustic songs”.
The success of Swift’s tour and film, coupled with her venture into streaming, is undeniable. Now a billionaire, The Eras Tour film raked in an impressive $178 million in the United States alone. This new release is only expected to bolster Swift’s financial standing further.
