Madrid will soon be in its Taylor Swift era, and its historic soccer team might now have to rearrange its schedule.
Real Madrid is scheduled to play its final game of the La Liga schedule on May 26 against Real Betis, but the only problem is the pop megastar is set to have a concert at Santiago Bernabéu Stadium just four days later.
So, with that in mind, Real has asked the league to move up its game against Betis to an earlier date in hopes of allowing the stadium to have more time to prepare for the Eras Tour, according to The Athletic.
According to the outlet, there could be a number of issues that could thwart rescheduling things, as Madrid, which sits at the top of the La Liga table, could end up needing to play the final game on the same day as second-place Girona, which is slated to play its final game of the season on May 25.
The Bernabeu is also looking to host a second Swift concert, if possible.
Swift’s international concert tour is bringing her to a wide variety of places around the glove, and starting with France in May, she kicks off a European leg of concerts that doesn’t end until August after an extended run at Wembley Stadium in London.
Her most recent travels brought her to Australia, where she is set to perform in Sydney this weekend.
Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce joined her down under, as the two enjoyed some time looking at all the animals during a private tour at the Sydney Zoo.
Kelce, Swift’s boyfriend since the fall, was even seen looking out and enjoying the view from the lavish $25,000-a-night at the Crown Sydney hotel on Thursday.
It’s not the first time the three-time Super Bowl champion has gone out of the United States to see Swift, as he traveled south to Buenos Aires, Argentina during a bye week this past season, and the two even shared a kiss after one of her shows.
As for Real Madrid, the team could get even more excitement this summer when all-world forward Kylian Mbappe is expected to join the squad.
