With Fortnite Festival Season 2 set to go live this week, musical icon Lady Gaga has confirmed she will be headlining the new season content.
Lady Gaga is coming to Fortnite later this week, with the singer and actress set to headline Fortnite Festival Season 2. Here's when her skin and new Festival Pass will arrive in-game.
With The Weeknd leaving Fortnite ahead of the launch of Fortnite Festival Season 2, speculation had been ramping up about which artist would headline the new season in the music-themed mode. But the rumours ground to a halt earlier this week, with legendary artist Lady Gaga confirming in a post on Twitter that she will be headlining Fortnite Festival, almost four-and-a-half years after her iconic "what's fortnight" post on the platform.
Here's when Lady Gaga's Fortnite skin and associated Festival Pass will arrive in-game, and what content we can expect based on Season 1's offering.
The Lady Gaga x Fortnite Festival release time is 5pm GMT / 12am EST / 9am PST on Thursday, February 22 which also happens to be the exact time Fortnite Festival Season 2 goes live. We know this for certain as this is the time Fortnite Festival Season 1 ends, and when the Fortnite Festival The Weeknd Pass will be replaced by Lady Gaga's Fortnite Festival Pass.
The launch of Fortnite Festival Season 2 will happen shortly after Fortnite update 28.30 drops, with the early patch notes for the update suggesting that we could see some more TMNT skins as part of the ongoing Fortnite x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collab, as well as updates to the other recently added modes – Lego Fortnite and Rocket Racing.
Based on the content on offer in Season 1, we'd expect a glut of Lady Gaga-themed content to be released, including a potential Fortnite Festival Lady Gaga Pass that could feature new instruments, Jam Tracks, reward tracks, premium reward track upgrades and, of course, a Lady Gaga Fortnite skin.
If the new pass follows the previous one, to grab the skin included with the pass, you'll have to complete Festival Questions to get Festival Points, which will then allow you to progress through the Festival Pass and earn the rewards on offer, but be warned, the Lady Gaga Fortnite skin is likely to be the final reward on offer!
If you don't want to grind the Festival Pass to get a Lady Gaga Fortnite skin, there are likely to be some Lady Gaga Combat Outfits available in the Item Shop once Fortnite Festival Season 2 drops, but you'll have to part with cold hard cash to get your hands on them.
The Weeknd's Combat Skin was priced at 1800 V-Bucks in the store, with The Weeknd's Combat Bundle on offer for 3500 V-Bucks, so Lady Gaga's are likely to cost a very similar amount. In terms of real money, a 2800 V-Bucks bundle will cost you £15.99 / $22.99 / AUS$30.35 while a 5000 V-Bucks bundle will set you back £27.99/ $36.99 / AUS$47.95.
