Lopez-Galvan was celebrating the Chief’s Super Bowl win with her son and husband when she was shot. A GoFundMe for the mother of two shows Swift donated two lots of $US50,000 on Friday evening during her Eras Tour show in Melbourne.
The fundraiser target for $US75,000 has now well and truly been reached.
Swift attended the Super Bowl in Las Vegas to support Kelce, who has expressed his horror at the shooting. At least eight children, some as young as six, were among 22 people shot at the end of a parade to celebrate the Super Bowl win by the Kansas City Chiefs.
Fifteen people suffered life-threatening wounds, the Kansas City Fire Department said.
Meanwhile in Australia, Foodbank, which helps feed locals in need, said the charity had received a surprise call from Swift’s people on Friday afternoon.
“We’re thrilled!” a Foodbank Victoria spokesperson said.
While donation amounts are kept private, the spokesperson said the money will go a long way to helping Victorians at a time when their services are in high demand.
“As if we couldn’t love you anymore than we already do @taylorswift,” Foodbank Victoria wrote on social media platform X.
“Your generous donation to Foodbank Victoria will put a sparkle back in the eyes of so many Victorians doing it tough right now! THANK YOU.”
