Swifties, unite and link arms. Disney+ is set to become the exclusive home for the streaming of Taylor Swift's much-anticipated Eras Tour concert film, starting from 15 March. As Taylor herself hints in the anthem "Miss Americana & the Heartbreak Prince," we've been on quite the journey to get here.
There's a buzz about the Disney+ edition as it will feature a handful of tracks that didn't make the cut in its initial releases, spotlighting Swift's rendition of "Cardigan" alongside four unplugged treasures. Dubbed The Eras Tour (Taylor's Version), it's a nod to Swift's ongoing crusade for artistic autonomy.
Last October, a version of this cinematic experience made its debut in cinemas, eventually paving its way to on-demand platforms like Prime Video, where it was tagged for rental towards the year's end. Clocking in at about three hours, this filmed spectacle captures the essence of Swift's stadium tour marvel. The Disney+ showcase will reintroduce "Cardigan" to the mix, a piece absent from its cinema counterpart.
Also exclusive are four extra acoustic tracks, though the specifics remain shrouded in mystery. During a filming session in August, Swift laid down six acoustic tracks, with "Our Song" and "You're on Your Own, Kid" making it into both the cinema and rental releases. This leaves fans speculating on the inclusion of "I Can See You," "Maroon," "You Are in Love," and "Death by a Thousand Cuts" in this latest edit.
Disney+ is available starting from S$12.98/month.
