Lady Gaga is known for her eccentricity and hasn’t been afraid to cause a stir to get people talking in the past. But the singer’s recent behavior at a movie premiere has people concerned for her well-being.
The musician showed up to the Los Angeles premiere of her former co-star Bradley Cooper’s new movie Maestro. However, instead of letting the film’s cast have their moment on the red carpet, Gaga apparently made a bit of a scene.
“She was inserting herself into photos with Bradley and [his Maestro co-star] Carey Mulligan as if Gaga were a part of the film. People looked shocked, and Carey seemed confused,” a source told Life and Style, adding Gaga seemed “off.”
Apparently, there’s concern for the singer’s mental health amid her inner circle. “Some people close to her say she seems different in recent months, almost as if she’s had a secret breakdown,” they continued. “She’s pulled away from friends and has been spending most of her time alone when she’s not with her boyfriend, Michael Polansky.”
The source admitted that Gaga has “felt a bit lost in her career.” She’s apparently struggling to balance her passion for music with her interest in acting as well as her beauty brand Haus Labs.
“She’s been so successful in all of her endeavors, but she’s felt a little lost in the landscape of the music industry lately,” they continued.
Lady Gaga may also be struggling in her relationship, as she and Michael Polansky faced break-up rumors at the end of last year. “[They] have taken some breathing space to figure out where their relationship is going,” a source said in October.
The insider implied that Gaga’s desire to focus on music may have spurred the split, saying,“They still talk. Just right now, he’s focusing on his booming tech career [and] she’s heavily invested in music and her upcoming role in the Joker.”
However, it appears the couple have reunited, as they’ve been spotted together in recent weeks. The source noted that Gaga wants a family, but has felt too focused on her ambitions to settle down at the moment, which may have also caused tension in the pair’s relationship.
“I want to do more movies, I want to have babies and I want to continue to build the behemoth that is Haus Laboratories into the makeup company of my dreams," Lady Gaga said of her 10-year plans in 2019, hinting at her desire to balance her professional career with her personal life.
She echoed a similar sentiment the following year when she said she’s looking forward to motherhood.
“I am very excited to have kids,” she told InStyle. "I look forward to being a mom. Isn't it incredible what we can do? We can hold a human inside and grow it. Then it comes out, and it's our job to keep it alive. It's so funny — everyone works out of my house every day. When they come in, I always say, 'Welcome to the Womb!'"
Lady Gaga hasn’t responded to speculation surrounding her recent behavior.
