Taylor Swift, SZA and Billie Eilish are among the artists who could make history at the Grammys on Sunday night with potential for historic victories in some of the night’s biggest categories—including a possible record-shattering fourth Album of the Year victory for Swift with “Midnights.”

Swift could become the artist with the most-ever wins in the Album of the Year category, considered the night’s most prestigious honor, breaking a tie she holds with Stevie Wonder, Paul Simon and Frank Sinatra and adding a victory for “Midnights” to her three wins for “Fearless,” “1989” and “Folklore.”
Swift could also notch her first-ever victory in the Song of the Year category with “Anti-Hero”—she became the most-nominated artist in that category this year with seven, but she’s never won, much to her fans’ disappointment.
At just 22 years old, Eilish could tie Simon and Bruno Mars for the most wins in the Record of the Year category if “What Was I Made For?” from the “Barbie” soundtrack takes home the trophy, which would mark her third victory in that category (Record of the Year honors the overall recording and production of a song, while Song of the Year honors the songwriting).
Either SZA or Janelle Monae could become the first Black woman this century to win Album of the Year, 25 years after Lauryn Hill took home the top prize—and some awards bettors consider SZA, the most-nominated artist this year, one of the favorites to win the award for her record-breaking album “SOS.”
The Best New Artist category could have its oldest winner—Jelly Roll, who at 39 would surpass Sheryl Crow, who won at 33 years old—or its first husband-and-wife duo winner, The War and Treaty.
Chris Stapleton could set records in the country categories, potentially tying for the most wins for Best Country Song or extending his record for most wins for Best Country Solo Performance if his song “White Horse” wins either category.
Producer Jack Antonoff could become the fourth artist in history after Eilish, Adele and Christopher Cross to win each of the “Big Four” categories—Album, Record and Song of the Year, and Best New Artist—if Swift takes home Record of the Year for “Anti-Hero,” which he would share the victory for as its producer.
Some oddsmakers betting on the night’s biggest awards are giving Swift the edge for Album of the Year. She leads the top category’s odds on GoldDerby, an awards prediction website, with more than 1,100 users predicting a “Midnights” victory, slightly more than the nearly 1,000 users projecting a SZA win. Betting websites OddsChecker and BetUS have Swift with the top odds to take each of Album, Record and Song of the Year. But the top prize can be unpredictable—the reigning Album of the Year winner, Harry Styles for “Harry’s House,” was considered a surprise winner by the media. Many awards bettors and media outlets had Grammy favorites Adele, for “30,” or Beyoncé, for “Renaissance,” pegged to win the prize. In 2022, Jon Batiste’s Album of the Year victory for “We Are” was similarly considered an upset—he bested chart-toppers like Olivia Rodrigo’s “Sour” and Eilish’s “Happier than Ever.”
Women almost completely dominated the Grammy nominations in the ceremony’s biggest categories. The biggest prizes—Album, Record and Song of the Year—each have eight nominees, and in all three categories, Batiste is the only male artist nominated. Batiste is up for the top prize again for “World Music Radio,” while his songs “Worship” and “Butterfly” will compete for Record and Song, respectively. Swift, SZA, Eilish, Rodrigo and Miley Cyrus are also nominated in all three of the biggest categories. Some of the most-nominated women this year, including Cyrus, Lana Del Rey and Phoebe Bridgers, will contend for their first-ever Grammy wins.
Nine. That’s how many nominations SZA has at this year’s Grammys, the most of any nominee. She’s up for the night’s biggest prizes: Album of the Year for “SOS,” as well as Record and Song of the Year for her chart-topper “Kill Bill.” She has six other nominations in the R&B and pop categories. Bridgers, Victoria Monét and audio engineer Serban Ghenea are the next most-nominated artists with seven each.
Who will take home the most Grammys—and what records, if any, will be broken. The Grammys will air Sunday at 8 p.m. ET on CBS and Paramount+. Performers will include Rodrigo, Dua Lipa, SZA, Eilish, Billy Joel, Luke Combs and Joni Mitchell, who will take the Grammys stage for the first time at age 80.
