According to Cardi’s attorney, Haynes holds key information on offshore accounts tied to Tasha K, which she didn’t reveal during her Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing.
An alleged failure by Tasha K to disclose assets could potentially violate 18 U.S.C. § 152.
This statute outlines penalties for those who “knowingly and fraudulently conceals from a custodian, trustee, marshal, or other officer of the court charged with the control or custody of property, or, in connection with a case under title 11, from creditors or the United States Trustee, any property belonging to the estate of a debtor.”
If Cardi B’s legal team proves Tasha K failed to disclose assets in bankruptcy fully, she could face additional fines and up to five years in federal prison.
