Bronx rapper and sex-positive icon, Cardi B recently joined her followers on Instagram live for a chat on dating norms with an anecdote on why she’ll always be Miss. Independent.
“When it comes to 50/50… it really really depends,” Cardi B said of the common Twitter debate. “I’m not totally against 50/50… because it really depends on your situation, your lifestyle.” Splitting bills has somehow become a measurement of how much your partner cares about you, especially in hypergamous communities, or groups of people who’d rather date wealthier people.

She continues with two reasons why being a “house b-tch” will never be her cup of tea. One, within a certain tax bracket, if you and your partner make the same income and would like to purchase a home, but only the man pays the bills — “You’ll never buy a f-cking house,” she said boldly.
As for the burning reason why she’ll always have her assets, “Once you a house b-tch you don’t have no say so in nothing,” she exclaimed. ”Have you ever been kicked out by a [man]?” she asked her followers, “I been b-tch,” and proceeds to share the saddest truth of being taken care of by financially abusive partners.
When her ex-boyfriend, unnamed, kicked her out, she was homeless for the evening with nowhere to go. ”B-tch you know where I went?” she asked matter of factly. “If you’re from New York, you know when you go up to the roof, there’s a little floor on the roof before you open it… I slept there.”
The rapper closed out her story with a word on how she prefers to be pampered by partners, while still having assets: “I love to get maintained and everything… But I do love ownership.”
