LEGENDARY rapper Lil Kim has faced her fair share of backlash throughout her career, despite selling over 15million records worldwide.
Fellow hip-hop artist Cardi B came to Lil Kim's defense in December via Twitter.
On Tuesday, December 21, 2021, Cardi B took to her Twitter account to defend Lil Kim against so-called haters.
Adding to a quote tweet, Cardi wrote: "I’m tired of it and it’s heartbreaking…She’s is so sweet ,supportive and a REAL F**KIN LEGEND..
"I remember when I used to beef wit b***es and I used to put on my MySpace her song F**K YOU!" she continued.
"I think it gotta be these 2000’s born kids on this app that don’t know about s**t!"
The original tweet in which Cardi responded to read: "Watching @LilKim get bullied, mocked, and disrespected by thousands of people online is really upsetting."
A Twitter user then responded to Cardi, suggesting she do a collab with Lil Kim.
"What do a collab go to do with someone constantly getting CYBER BULLY?" Cardi responded.
"Before a artist I am a woman wit feelings and I know how much it hurts to constantly get picked on…When I collab wit her is going to be at the right time & the right song.I don’t rush BIG MOMENTS!"
The most recent drama with Lil Kim comes in connection to her track, Big Santa Papi, which was released in December as part of Nick Cannon's Miracles Across 125th Street.
Alongside a video clip of Lil Kim's song, a Twitter user wrote: "Lil Kim has officially crashed and burned her last crumb of legacy,what is this hunny…"
The user added in a second tweet: "it’s been a decade since she seen a chart."
Many users have been quick to defend Lil Kim, adding that she is meant to play a "cringy" character in Cannon's flick.
Despite the explanation of Kim's character, many continued to talk down to the rapper via Twitter.
"You ruined rap," wrote another user, replying directly to Lil Kim's account.
Many users also began to compare Lil Kim to fellow female rapper Nicki Minaj.
"But I was born in the early 90s I got to experience lil Kim she definitely fell of and she has herself to blame for that she let nicki take her spot a legend don’t fold say what ya want," one user added.
Born on July 11, 1975, Lil Kim first rose to fame during the 1990s.
Prior to the death of the Notorious B.I.G. – real name Christopher Wallace – Lil Kim found herself in a close relationship with him.
Wallace helped Kim to jumpstart her career, and she became one of the only female rappers of all time to have three platinum albums.
In 1994, Kim became a member of the Wallace-backed group, Junior M.A.F.I.A. They released their first album the following year, debuting at number eight on the Billboard 200 chart.
Kim's debut solo album dropped in 1996, selling over 5million copies worldwide with its release.
She has released four studio albums since, and has earned a multitude of awards for her music, including a Grammy.
According to Celebrity Net Worth, Lil Kim has an estimated net worth of around $500,000.
In contrast, Cardi B has an estimated net worth of around $40million.
