Empire Magazine published their mega 2024 Preview issue including ‘Joker: Folie à Deux‘ starring Lady Gaga and Joaquin Phoenix as one of the 10 most essential 2024 movies.

The special issue is out on November 23rd and includes a review on the upcoming Joker sequel. The review states some interesting things about Gaga:
“She bares her soul. She eats the scenery. And she’ll sing her lungs out. Prepare for a match made in hell.”
They also repeated director Tod Phillips and cinematographer Lawrence Sher words about the movie:
“We dance a lot, by the way,” Phillips told Empire a few months before Joker’s release. “There’s a lot of dancing in this movie. We think Joker has music in his soul. Lawrence Sher says that, visually at least, it’s inspired by Francis Ford Coppola’s 1982 musical One From The Heart.”
The review also delved into the movie’s intriguing title:
“According to the National Institutes Of Health, the folie à deux’ condition is “an identical or similar mental disorder affecting two or more individuals”, meaning that the Joker/Harley team-up will be doubling the delusion.”
‘Joker: Folie à Deux’ will be in theaters in October 2024.
