Put on a pot of Frappuccino for the Swifites: Taylor Swift‘s “The Eras Tour” concert film will be even longer on streaming than it was in theaters.
The theatrical version of “Eras” has a runtime of 2 hours and 49 minutes. That’s not exactly “Oppenheimer” (3 hours), but it is longer than “Napoleon” (2 hours, 38 minutes). When the concert movie debuts on paid streaming on December 13, it will be exactly three songs longer; welcome to the party, “Wildest Dreams,” “Long Live,” and “The Archer.”
When reached, a spokesperson for Universal Pictures Home Entertainment told IndieWire the streaming version of the film has a runtime of 181 minutes, or 12 minutes more than the theatrical cut. The math makes sense: “Wildest Dreams (Taylor’s Version)” clocks in at 3 minutes and 40 seconds, “The Archer” is 3:31, and “Long Live” runs 5 minutes and 17 seconds. (That last one will be both “long” and “live” — though of course Swift’s “Live” is the other pronunciation and meaning of the homonym.)

“Well, so, basically I have a birthday coming up and I was thinking a fun way to celebrate the year we’ve had together would be to make The Eras Tour Concert Film available for you to watch at home!” Swift posted to her social media accounts on Monday. “Very happy to be able to tell you that the extended version of the film including ‘Wildest Dreams,’ ‘The Archer’ and ‘Long Live’ will be available to rent on demand in the US, Canada & additional countries to be announced soon starting on … you guessed it, December 13.”
We do not yet know the rental price or purchase price for “Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour” on PVOD (premium video-on-demand). We can assume it will be on all the ordinary rental/purchase platforms, like iTunes, Vudu, Amazon, Google Play, and via cable providers.
Yes, this is the at-home monetization round. It is unclear if “Eras” will simultaneously come out on DVD and Blu-ray. It would be a shame to miss the Christmas holiday, so any physical media for “Eras,” though oddly not (yet) mentioned by Swift, should not be far behind.
“Eras” will head to PVOD via Universal (AMC’s distribution ends at theatrical). Where it won’t head next is NBCUniversal’s Peacock, we’re told.
“There are no plans of the platform getting the film at this time,” the Universal Pictures spokesperson said.

“Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour” has pulled in nearly $180 million domestically over its seven weekends of showtimes. And on Monday, it crossed the quarter-billion-dollar mark globally. (Adult tickets cost $19.89, a nod to Swift’s massive album “1989” and her birth year, which is more than a typical movie-theater ticket.) It will return to AMCs and other theaters for an eighth weekend on Thursday.
