Joker: Folie à Deux, the sequel to the Oscar-winning first film, is one of the most anticipated movies of 2024. So, what do we know so far?
It seems that in the movie, Harley Quinn has two main looks. We’ve seen her with long blonde hair and little makeup in normal clothes, and then what seems to be her after her total descent into madness.
Her “Harley Quinn” costume consists of a white shirt with ruffles and a black and white diamond pattern, a fancy red blazer, a leather mini skirt, diamond-patterned tights, and lines painted through her eyes. She also cuts her hair into a bob at some point.
Most of the details we know about the movie have actually come from set images and videos. Back in March, a photo was released showing the front page of the fictional newspaper the Gotham Examiner showing a smiling Harly Quinn with long hair and the headline “Crazy in Love.”
The newspaper says that Joker has a new love, and shows that she’s a fellow Arkham inmate.
While we already knew that Folie à Deux was going to be a musical, we got our first sample of the music from a video that doesn’t show anything, but clearly has Lady Gaga singing a song for the film.
We also know that one iconic Joker location will be returning for the film: the staircase. People have taken pictures and videos of two different scenes with Harley Quinn dancing on the infamous steps: one before her transformation is complete, and one after.
Joker: Folie à Deux stars Lady Gaga along with Joaquin Phoenix, Zazie Beetz, Brendan Gleeson, and Catherine Keener. It’s directed by Todd Phillips and releases in theaters October 4, 2024.
